Greetings Ben!
Hello, I hope you're doing fine and with good health of course. I appreciate all the things you've done especially the video tutorials. ^_^ I've learned a lot. I also thank God for a person like you, hope you'll continue inspiring people! God Bless ♥

This is an answer to the person asking if he should get a new violin after suzuki book 1.

If your violin is working fine, why to invest in another one now? If there's nothing wrong with it, if it isn't broken, there's no reason to buy another one so soon. Did you talk to your teacher about it?

I think you should wait till you start doing fancy bowing techniques, like ricochet, sautille, etc. Then you'll PERHAPS, feel the need for a better bow, or a better violin.

Hey Ben, I really want you to answer me here. I am a beginner on violin, I just finished first Suzuki book and I was wondering if I should buy another violin.

The one I have is a Suzuki original, but I don't know if I should:

A) Sell my current violin and get a fancier one.

B) Buy an electric violin

C) Do nothing and keep playing with the one I have.

Please answer me, could use the help! Same if anyone else wants to give me their opinion!

Hi Ben,
Thanks for this making this website, I've found it very useful. =)
Anyways I was wondering if you could put up a video of the fireflies sheet music that you transcribed. That would be really helpful, Thanks!

Hey Ben, I am thinking about purchasing an electric violin, but I really want to get my money's worth... I have about $250 but do you know any good places to get them? Or is 250 not enough? Thx :)

Hey Ben,

A while back I sent you a suggestion on a transcribing contest. You had said it was a great idea and that youd love to make the contest. I was just wondering if you were going to follow up on that. Thanks for all the awe inspiring transcriptions! You among two others are the only reason Im still playing. That and the fact that my teacher wont let me quit cuz Im too good.:P

Thanks for your time

I need to say that I love the work you do for the violin community and I greatly appreciate your music. But I have a question (no sheet music request, just a question), do you know how I can transcribe cello pieces to violin? Perhaps you could make a tutorial about it, or you could direct me to someone who knows.

Good luck to you and your wife,

Thom

Hey Ben! I wanted to say I love your music, and I hope you continue playing. I'm not sure whether or not to ask it here, or some place else, but I was wondering if you can play the song Someday the dream will end from Final fantasy X. Thanks!

John, you need to shut up and get over it. I totally agree with Ben. If you want sheet music, go somewere else

From: Luis R. Tue, 05/25/10 11:48am
Ben, An extra 1000 facebook fans will be required for every transcription or just for the difficult/especial ones???

Also I proposed the teknoman intro for transcribing but as I see it may need several month (999999E99 fans required :D) to be transcribed and I just dont think its interesting enough and I will prefer to delete it from the sheet request to make other sheet request able to be transcribed first!!!

That being said, you DID proceed down the path of offering sheet music on a weekly basis. No mention was made that additional requirements might be forthcoming.
Closing, I’m a bit surprised at your final comment. It expresses a juvenile attitude that I believed someone of your age and experience would have matured through.
Good luck to you and your family. You are offering a great service to the violin community but please dissolve my membership at this time.
Regards,
John

Hi Ben. I too am disappointed in your response. You see, I DO understand the amount of work that you put into the website and transcribing the music. I've pondered your commitment from the beginning, impressed that anyone would endeavor such a task by themselves. It is even perfectly understandable that each winning composition couldn't be produced on a weekly basis as everyone has personal and professional obligations which take precedence.

From: Ben C Tue, 05/25/10 9:09am
John -- it disappoints me to hear feedback like yours. I suppose you may be accustomed to getting free stuff off of websites, but keep in mind that real people do real work to make it available to you. Some of these transcriptions are very difficult, especially Fiddler on the Roof. Doing a piano reduction of a piece requires arranging it, which people get PAID to do and sometimes make a living off of. You're welcome to look elsewhere for free sheet music, of course.

From: john Sat, 05/22/10 7:46pm
So Ben, why are you holding the sheet music for ransom? I thought the purpose of voting was to establish the most popular composition for the week and you would transcribe it. Now, we have to enlist as your groupies on facebook? Sorry, not going to do it. What's the next ransom level? Sending money? Facebook enlistments weren't part of the deal when I signed up for ChamberHymns.
